The Joy of Enjoy!

As well as great taste, there are lots of reasons to feel good about eating Enjoy!

Dark Chocolate

Cacao is believed to have numerous health benefits, particularly on the cardiovascular and immune system. In order to benefit from the positive health effects of cacao, dark chocolate with a cacao content of at least 70% is recommended. All our chocolate contains either 70% or 85% cacao solids.

Organic Chocolate

All our ingredients come from organic suppliers. We are accredited by the Soil Association, who carry out an audit yearly to ensure we keep to their rigorous standards.

The word “organic” refers to the way farmers grow and process agricultural products, such as fruits and vegetables. Organic farming practices are designed to enhance soil and water quality, reduce pollution and promote a self-sustaining cycle of resources on a farm.

The potential benefits of eating organic versus conventionally grown produce include increased nutrients and lower pesticide residue.

Free From Chocolate

Chris Crutchley, founder and CEO of Enjoy!, is a chronic sufferer of food intolerances so he wanted to make a chocolate that was “free from,” but without compromising on great taste.

We are best known for being a chocolate that is free from gluten, dairy and soya, but in fact our product recipes and factory are free from all 14 allergens (as identified in EU law in 2014.)

As a safeguard, we also periodically test both raw ingredients and our finished products for traces of gluten, dairy, soya, almonds, hazelnuts and peanuts. Click to see our full allergy statement

Vegan Chocolate

Our products contain no animal products and no animals are exploited in the farming of our raw ingredients. We are registered as vegan by the Vegan Society.

No Palm Oil

We are opposed to the deforestation caused by the massive demand for palm oil by manufacturers. There is no need to use palm oil in chocolate, and we never would. Most of our chocolate contains no oil at all, but where we need to use it, specifically in our caramels, we use coconut oil.

Raw Cacao Powder

We use raw cacao powder in our chocolate. Raw cacao is roasted at lower temps than conventional cocoa, thereby retaining more antioxidants -and, in our opinion, flavour!

No Refined Sugar

We use unrefined coconut sugar in our chocolate products, in preference to refined sugar. Coconut sugar is more expensive than the sugar cane variety, but we like using it for several reasons:

  • It contains inulin -a fibre that slows glucose absorption into the blood, giving the coconut sugar a lower Glycemic Index than that of refined sugar
  • It has a subtle caramel flavour profile
  • Chris finds his body tolerates coconut sugar better than refined sugar, and some of our customers, who also struggle with sugar, have said the same
